Swine flu Symptoms

H1N1 virus is nothing but an animal infectious one. The big difference between the seasonal one and this is that the swine flu has the components of pig and bird bug virus in it. This is the fact that the humans don’t have any resistance against this virus in their body. All these made the H1N1 virus the ability to cause a global outbreak.

A person affected by swine flu has the symptoms similar to the seasonal flu. The basic symptoms are:

  • High fever (greater than 100°F or 37.8°C)
  • Cough
  • Runny nose or stuffy nose
  • Sore throat
  • Body aches
  • Headache
  • Chills
  • Fatigue or tiredness, which can be extreme

Some peoples are also affected by diarrhea and vomiting. People suffering from the chronic disease such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, etc have found their conditions to be worse.

Nasal congestion and rhinorrhea respiratory disease are found to affect a person by the H1N1 virus without the symptoms of fever. H1N1 virus also causes pneumonia and respiratory failures even causing death.

People who are traveling overseas should be more careful and should take all the preventive measures. The above mentioned symptoms will not confirm that the person is affected by the flu. Only after checking the necessary specimens taken within four to five days of the infection we can make sure that the person is affected or not. So it is important to get the medical help immediately once you find the above symptoms.
