Australians should make sure that each and every member in the family is vaccinated against the swine flu.

Health minister Nicola Roxon said this as the flu shots for the babies became available on Thursday.

She has asked all the families to get vaccinated before the next school year begins but sooner before Christmas.

In addition she said that they are in a global fight against flu pandemic.

The swine flu vaccines will be available for free to children with the age limit of 6 months to 9 years old within two weeks.

The health statistics done in Canada and US reveals that there is an urgent situation to vaccinate the kids first against the flu.

Since in Canada more than 500 children where sent to hospital with in two months.

Kids less than 9 years will have to be given 2 doses of swine flu. The first dose for complete protection and the second does should be given 28 days later to boost the first dose.

Chief medical officer of Australia said that the vaccine is safe for the children except for those who have allergic to eggs.
