The total number of swine flu death in South Australia rises to 17 with a 19 year boy who died last week.

South Australia has 8094 laboratory confirmed cases of swine flu. At present 42 are hospitalized and five are in ICU.

The man died on Friday at the Lyell McEwin Hospital and was suffering from sever health condition.

Third piggery in Australia has been attacked by the H1N1 virus. Test has confirmed the presence of swine flu in the piggery at darling downs in southern Queensland.

After noticing number of pigs with the flu like symptoms about 3000 piggery was isolated.

While the initial test have confirmed the presence of the virus. The nasal swabs and blood samples sent to the laboratory overnight has now returned positive.

The chief veterinary officer said that appropriate measure have been taken to prevent the virus from moving out of the property and would be destroyed quickly.

He also said the all the piggery staff should be alert with the disinfection and cleaning. And should send a report to the authorities if they find anything unusual or out of their control.

WA has planned to receive 200,000 doses of swine flu vaccine for the people who are considered to be at the high risk.

The health department of Australia says that the first dose of vaccinations is set to on the wheels out across the state.

All around the country till now more than 4000 are infected with 20 deaths.

The vaccine doses are planned to give to the pregnant woman, health care workers and people suffering from the chronic health problems.

Australia: At the end of next week the Federal Government is planning to take two million does of swine flu vaccine that would likely occur in September.

If the human trials currently in progress divulge that the vaccine is safe, pregnant women and people with the underlying health condition will be treated first.

Health Minister Nicola Roxon said that “we will be in receipt by the end of next week of two million doses of swine flu vaccine and we are planning and working with the states and territories for the vaccination program to commence at some time in September.”

Ms. Roxon was worried that the timetable was reliant on the safety and efficacy results of the human trial.

The initial report says that vaccine safe for that of the regular flu and is promising but the final report is expected on the forth coming weeks.

Once the final report is satisfactory the first dose will be given to around 4.3 million people including pregnant women, health workers, indigenous people, and the people with the underlying health condition.

She also said that “this will be the biggest vaccination program in the shortest period time that the commonwealth has ever undertaken”.

Currently there are 94 people in ICU with H1N1 infection and 121 swine flu related deaths. The country has about 32,000 cases of swine flu.

According to the latest news published by WHO 1,799 people have died of swine flu all over the globe.
