“Fluvac” swine flu vaccine made by the Pune based serum India has been expected to be out for the commercial use between the months of May to June 2010.

From the regulators the company has caught a proceeding signal to run the phase II/III clinical trials which has been considered very vital in the introduction of drugs in the market.

After Ahmedabad based Zydus Cadila, serum is the second company to enter the phase II/III. The company has started his clinical trials at different locations in the country on more than 200 subjects. The company has planned to prepare the drugs in the form of injections and nasal spray.

The drug will be first tested in the four major cities after it has been released. The price of the drug is estimated to be around Rs. 150 to Rs. 200 which is half the price of the global average.
