5 more deaths due to swine flu. Total toll goes to 1119 an official statement said today.

An official statement said that five more people have died of swine flu in the country. With these the total number of deaths goes to 1119.

The victims were from Madhya Pradesh (3) and Gujarat (2).

And 23 fresh cases of swine flu were reported in the country. With these the total number of laboratory confirmed cases of swine flu infection goes to 28,195.

The statement further added that so far Maharashtra has accounted 300 deaths while Gujarat with 176 deaths. The other include Rajasthan with 170, Karnataka with 137, Delhi with 89, Andhra Pradesh with 52, Punjab with 37, Kerala with 34, Haryana with 33, Uttar Pradesh with 17, Madhya Pradesh with 17, Uttarakhand with 13, Chandigarh with 8, Himachal Pradesh with 8, Tamil Nadu with 7, Puducherry with 6, Goa with 5, Orissa with 3, Assam with 2, Jammu & Kashmir with 2, Chhattisgarh with 2, and Mizoram with 1.
