Nepal confirmed its first swine flu death on Sunday - The health officials.
Health officials have confirmed that one person in Nepal have died of swine flu on Sunday.
The victim was a 30 year old woman whose identity has been kept secret. The women died last week when she was undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital. The woman was admitted in the hospital for other medical illness and later she was diagnosed for swine flu. Then the hospital authorities isolated her from the other patients and gave her special attention at the intensive care unit.
Official said that they will uncover the current status of the swine flu in the state on Sunday but they have postponed it and are expected to be on Monday or Tuesday.
Till now Nepal has confirmed 150 cases of swine flu.

Recent study said new moms are at a high risk for swine flu infection.
According to the latest study not only the pregnant women are at a danger for swine flu new moms are also at a high risk. The study about the pregnant women and new moms who were hospitalized stated that the women had babies in the past two weeks are at high risk group for swine flu infection.
The report about the study was published yesterday December 23 2009 highlighted that the high risk group people are those immediately after pregnancy. The study was done on 94 pregnant women and 8 new mothers. All these women’s were hospitalized with the swine flu symptoms during the first three to four months of the pandemic and well before the vaccines were announced for the national outbreak.
Of all the women hospitalized total about 22 women including 18 pregnant women and 4 new moms were isolated from the intensive care units. And 8 women and 2 new moms died. The died women’s did have any history of about have taken the medicine or flu drugs.

Health officials said today that nine new cases of swine flu were reported in Chandigarh.
Health officials of the city said that Chandigarh has 9 fresh cases of swine flu. The hospital authorities have collected the throat and nasal swab samples of these patients on Sunday. The result came today have confirmed their infection.
Doctors are keeping close tab on the patients. Of these nine cases four people belongs to Chandigarh, one to Punjab and two peoples from Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
The hospital authorities have collected the samples from eight more people and their results are expected by today evening.
The health department of Chandigarh has declared that the doctors can prescribe Tamilflu tablets to the patients based on their health condition since there is an increase in the number of swine flu cases.
Till now in the city hospital 280 cases of swine flu have been reported and 34 deaths due to H1N1 virus.

On Sunday India faced four more deaths taking the total number of death due to swine flu to 699. Kashmir met its first swine flu death. The health officials said.
Muskan a Tullamullan region woman was the first victim to die of swine flu in Kashmir and she was the first person to be tested positive for swine flu infection.
On December 1st 2009 the woman was admitted in the soura medical institute with acute respiratory pain. She was admitted in the intensive care unit. The condition of the woman remained serious and she died on late Saturday. When the test samples send to Delhi came it showed that the woman was tested positive for swine flu infection.
Other three deaths were reported from Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Karnataka.
Till now Maharashtra remains the worst hit state in the country with 240 deaths. While, Gujarat has reported 57 and Rajasthan with 94 deaths.
And Karnataka is the second worst hit state with 123 deaths in the country.
And 175 new cases of swine flu infection were reported across the country on Sunday. The new cases were reported from Delhi (95), Rajasthan (22), Haryana (15), Karnataka (14), and Uttar Pradesh (16).

India swine flu death rises to 632 with five more death in Delhi. The health ministry of India reported the deaths on Monday.
First the Delhi government only added four deaths to the list later they said one more have died of swine flu last Sunday in Guru Teg Bahadur hospital.
The victim was a resident of Uttar Pradesh. So the assistant nodal officer said that they are not adding this death in their cumulative total.
In the four deaths there was a 9 month old baby and a 52 year old man. The baby died in St Stephens Hospital and the man died in Mata Chanan Devi Hospital. And the other two deaths were reported from Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
So with these four deaths the cumulative total of the country rises to 34.
Delhi alone reported 198 new swine flu cases on late Monday. With the cumulative total for the number of infections rise to 6,171.
Though there was no record for new swine flu infection in the other states the health ministry reported 315 new cases of swine flu. Excluding Delhi Haryana reported 39 cases and Uttar Pradesh reported 30 cases.
In the 315 new cases of swine flu four people seems to have the history of foreign travel and the rest have captured the virus from their native.
Till now more than 20,000 people have affected in India for the national outbreak swine flu.

12 people have died of swine flu taking the toll of the country 591. The deaths were reported from different states of the country.
An official statement that was released said that 12 more people have fallen prey to swine flu. With these deaths the toll of the country rises to 591.
The deaths were reported from Delhi (3), Rajasthan (2), Maharashtra (1), and Karnataka (3).
147 new cases of swine flu were reported from all parts of the country. The states include Rajastathan (43), Delhi (38), Uttar Pradesh (20), Karnataka (15), Maharashtra (15), Haryana (8), Tamil Nadu (3), Gujarat (3), kerala (1) and Puducherry (1).
The total number of deaths due to swine flu all over the country is Maharashtra (226), Karnataka (123) , Andhra Pradesh (50), Rajasthan (49), Gujarat (46), Kerala (26), Delhi (25), Haryana (9), Tamil Nadu (7), Puducherry (6), Goa (5), Uttarakhand (5), Punjab (4), Uttar Pradesh (3), Orissa (3), Chhattisgarh (1), Himachal Pradesh (1), Madhya Pradesh (1), and Mizoram (1).
And the laboratory confirmed cases for the H1N1 virus rise to 18,543.
