The global pandemic H1N1 virus has killed 156 people in India. The death rate raised with 11 people deaths across the country. Pune has so far reported 40 swine flu deaths and is the highest reported city in the country. Yesterday five people those include three year old baby and a boy aged 17 were died in pune.
In Maharashtra the toll rises to 72 with five deaths confirmed in satara, raigad, solapur and ahmednagar. Maharashtra has the highest death rate in country wise. And Karnataka has 52 swine flu deaths.
Yesterday Delhi reported its fifth swine flu death. The victim was a 12 year old girl. Bangalore reported three deaths while Karnataka reported five yesterday.
Around 176 new cases of swine cases were reported in the country taking the number of infected cases to 5,611.
The states that reported new cases of swine flu are as follows: Delhi has the maximum number of new cases that reported 68 infections, followed by TN with 32 and Maharashtra with 26 new cases.
Other states include Haryana with 14, Andhra Pradesh with 5, Kerala with 2, west Bengal with 2, uttarakhand with 2 and Punjab with 1 new cases of swine flu.
