Though swine flu has decided to close its swine flu disaster unit, South Africa will be alert and prepared all through for the FIFA world cup.
Britain the one to be first hit by the swine flu last week said that it has planned to close all its swine flu services. Britain has decided this since the health officials has reported a steady decrease in the swine flu cases.
At the same time South Africa has instructed its health officials team to continue to monitor swine flu cases. The manager for the communicable diseases at the national department of health Dr. Frew Benson said that the country is taking necessary measures to deal with the swine flu and also the upcoming flu season.
The country has planned to hold a national swine flu vaccination camp from March before the start of the World cup and the next flu season. To manage the expected outbreak around 1.3 million doses of swine flu vaccination has been ordered.
In 2009 91 people have been died of swine flu and no new cases have been reported this year.
Tourists visiting South Africa have been asked to get vaccination against swine flu and measles in their home countries itself.
