With four new deaths, Africa death rate increases to 40. As per 3rd September 2009 south has reported 1,835 swine flu cases and four deaths. States including Uganda and Zambia has reported new swine flu infected cases says WHO.

WHO also stated that Algeria has so far recorded 33 cases swine flu cases, Angola with 11 cases, Botswana with 23 cases, Cameroon with 4 cases, Cape Verde with 46 cases, Cote D’Ivoire with 2 cases, Democratic Republic of Congo with 1 case, Ethiopia with 4 cases, Gabon with 1, Ghana with 10 cases, Kenya with 85 cases, Lesotho with 14 cases, Madagascar with 15 cases, Mauritius with 69 cases, Mozambique with 1, Namibia with 52 cases, Seychelles with 3 cases, South Africa with 7,606 cases.

Meantime South Africa has recorded 1,735 new swine flu cases and four new deaths.

Other states that reported fresh swine flu cases are as follows: Tanzania (97), Uganda (13), Zambia (13), Zimbabwe (5) and Swaziland (2).

With the increasing spread of the swine flu infection WHO has advised people not to be alarmed for the global outbreak but to follow the hygienic practices and take necessary preventive measures.
